The sight of thousands of people dancing in the sunshine (or quite often, knee-deep in mud!) is now one of the essential images of the Great British summer.

Rubbing shoulders with loads of party goers is not everyone’s cup of tea, of course. We love Radio 1’s Big Weekend because it’s broadcast on the TV and radio, so we can watch the biggest stars in music from the comfort of the living room! Here’s a sneak peek at the hottest artists at this year’s event in Norwich!

She’s a superstar with a wardrobe to die for who’s racked up billions of views on Youtube and performed to millions of fans all over the world. Who else could we start with but the super-talented Taylor Swift?

We love how Taylor stays both fierce and down-to-earth all at once. Whether she’s calling out her haters or joking about her tabloid image in her brilliant pop songs, it’s impossible not to grab your girls and sing along when she takes to the stage!

From “Shake it Off” to “Shake it Out” — here’s a home-grown star with an instantly recognisable voice and a seriously glam style.

Florence Welch is just as famous for her gorgeous red hair and catwalk style as she is for her band’s uplifting love songs, and we can’t wait to see what she’s wearing on the main stage on Saturday 23rd May.

We’ve got our fingers crossed that the band will be debuting some new songs off their next album, “How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful”, which will be released a week after their first festival appearance of the summer!

Heard of Years and Years yet? Don’t worry if you haven’t, because you soon will – they’re tipped for the top, and have a load of huge, electronic-tinged pop songs for you to fall in love with.

They’ve played Radio 1’s Live Lounge, gaining themselves a new fan in the form of DJ Fearne Cotton in the process. And if you recognise lead singer Olly, it’s because he used to act in Channel 4’s Skins — although we prefer him in his new role as cool, golden-voiced frontman!

Check out their amazing cover of HAIM’s classic “Don’t Save Me” too — and you can be the one who tips off your mates with the hottest new band in the country!
