One of our absolute fave things about this time of year is relaxing at home on the sofa and watching all the best TV – preferably with a sparkling glass of Lambrini! Whether it’s the Christmas specials of our favourite shows, classic festive movies, or shocking soap storylines, we’re ready to curl up with our nearest and dearest and indulge in telly treats!
With so much great TV to watch, how do you know where to start? We sat down with the TV guide, a marker pen and a glass of Brini to pick out all the can’t-miss shows and movies for you…
Our all-time favourite Christmas Elf, Buddy, is played hilariously by Will Ferrell. There’s nothing like a fabulous comedy filled with sugary treats, as well as the Christmassy (and not-so Christmassy) elements of New York City! The moral of the story is to spread Christmas cheer by singing as loud as possible for all to hear. So, let’s hear it! Tune in on Friday 18th at 10:55AM on Sky Movies.
Strictly Come Dancing Grand Final
On a cold Saturday night, there’s nothing we love better than keeping warm and getting lost in the glitz and glamour of good old Strictly.
The big finale marks Christmas being just around the corner too – so cosying up next to a twinkling Christmas tree, a crackling fire, and cheering on your favourite celebrity dancer sounds like absolute perfection to us!
Love Actually, is (actually) one of our favourite Christmas films ever, not to mention one of our favourite rom-coms.
Colin Firth’s tiny rendition of “Silence Is Golden” is one of our favourite moments in film history and, of course, Hugh Grant’s hip-shaking solo performance of “Jump (For My Love)” is laugh-out-loud hilarious!
Tune into ITV2 on 20th December at 10:20PM to feel all fuzzy and festive with this fabulous film!
Another favourite festive film of ours is The Holiday. A sprinkle of romance, a dash of comedy, and a whole heap of beautiful scenery (it also helps thatJude Law is a dreamboat throughout!). What more could you possibly ask for?
This film is on ITV2 on Mon 21 Dec at 9PM. Just in time to start getting super festive! We can’t wait!
Hollyoaks is set for heaps of excitement over the festive period! If you don’t usually watch this guilty-pleasure soap then now’s the perfect time to tune in, because there’ll be so much drama you’ll be immediately lost in the glamour of Cheshire’s finest!
Be prepared for the hour long Christmas special on 6PM on Christmas Eve… and get your Lambrini at the ready because Christmas isn’t going to run smoothly in the ‘Oaks.
The ultimate episode of Downton Abbey will air on Christmas Day at 8:45PM. It’s the perfect time to settle down, pleasantly full of Christmas dinner – but with just enough room left to break into that box of chocolates.
If this season is anything to go by, the last ever episode of this addictive show is going to be an emotional ride, but we’ve got our fingers crossed for a happy ending!
